Mercearia Portuguesa corrects errors openly. This page explains how.
How to report an error
Email corrections@merceariaportuguesa.com with a link to the article and a description of the issue. We aim to review correction requests within 2 business days.
What happens next
- Factual errors (wrong dates, figures, names, or a misstatement of what a source reported) are corrected in the article as soon as we can verify the fix, with a short note at the bottom of the piece stating what was changed and when.
- Source disputes — if an outlet we cited disputes our summary of their reporting, we will review the original article and correct or clarify promptly.
- Significant errors that materially changed the meaning of a story will be noted with a visible correction notice, not silently edited.
- Typos and minor wording issues are fixed without a formal notice.
Takedown requests
We generally do not remove published articles on request, but we will correct factual inaccuracies. If you believe an article should be removed entirely (for example, for legal reasons), explain why in your email and we’ll respond.
AI-related errors
Because our news summaries are AI-drafted from limited source material (see our Editorial Policy), occasional misreadings of a source are possible. We treat these the same as any other factual error — report it and we’ll fix it.
