Friday, 3 July · Cascais, PT Portuguese news for expats

Fiona and her husband Sean split their time between the Algarve and Lisbon since 2017, after 20 years running a travel agency in Cork convinced them to finally go be tourists somewhere themselves — permanently, as it turned out. Their two kids are grown and back in Ireland, which mostly means more room in the campervan. She covers travel and getting around Portugal for Mercearia Portuguesa, usually testing things herself first: new ferry routes, obscure hiking trails, whichever beach town everyone's suddenly discovered this year. Sean claims she's paddleboarded in every bay between Sagres and Cascais; she's not disputing it.
